Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse role in ambulatory care at Mayo Clinic supporting nursing coordination, direct patient care, and patient/family education within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model. The RN/LPN will participate in planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care, provide leadership through preceptorship and quality-improvement activities, and may drive the use of EMR systems. Role requires flexibility in scheduling (days/evenings/nights/holidays/weekends/on-call) and may involve multiple Mayo Clinic campuses (Phoenix/Scottsdale, Jacksonville, Rochester) with on-site, full-time duties. Eligibility for TN sponsorship and state-specific licensure requirements apply; additional licensure or specialty training may be required by the work area.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program (BSN) or equivalent recognized by ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements (Arizona)
- One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in a team environment
- Ability to work flexible hours including days/evenings/nights/holidays/weekends and on-call
- Computer skills and experience with electronic medical record systems preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking skills, and mentoring ability
- AZ BLS competency (or equivalent)
- Additional state licensure and/or specialty certifications/training as required by the work area
Additional Requirements
- Arizona-specific licensure required
