Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse to assist in inmate care within the Health Care Unit under RN supervision. Responsibilities include assisting in assessment, planning and implementing treatment programs, administering medications including IV therapy (when certified), assisting with evaluations, obtaining specimens, performing EKGs, maintaining controlled substances and equipment, applying safety precautions, implementing nutrition/therapeutic diets, and triaging healthcare requests.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program
- Current licensure as an LPN/LVN in the state of employment
- Must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.
- Must have current CPR/BLS certification
- Must have current TB test (taken within one year)
- Willing to assist coworkers and work overtime if required
- Maintains confidentiality, dignity, and security of health records and HIPAA compliance
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug test (as applicable)
