Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse position in a correctional healthcare setting in Portales, NM. Under RN supervision, the LPN assists in inmate assessment and planning, administers medications (including IV therapy if certified), supports providers in evaluations and procedures, performs EKGs and specimen collection, maintains controlled substances and equipment, and assists with nutrition/diet plans and triage of healthcare requests. Requires graduation from an accredited LPN/LVN program, active LPN/LVN licensure in the state, CPR/BLS, TB test, and ability to pass background/drug screen. Work environment is inside a correctional facility with safety and HIPAA requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program
- Current licensure as an LPN/LVN in the state of employment
- CPR/BLS certification
- TB test within one year
