Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse for assigned patients in the Neurosciences department. Coordinate care with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state and achieve Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association. Perform duties requiring the ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs regularly, along with prolonged standing, walking, and bending. Work 12-hour night shifts for 24 hours per week at Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed
- Must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
