Job Summary
Perform physical assessments, administer medications, provide wound care, and monitor patient health status for individuals in the Easterling Correctional Facility. Take vital signs, maintain electronic medical records in TechCare, deliver emergency first aid, and offer patient education and discharge planning. Work alongside correctional officers in a secure environment where security is a top priority while managing chronic illnesses and responding to emergencies. Full-time and part-time positions available with training for new graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
