Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and document patient care for new and established patients in a urological clinic setting. Review patient history, diagnostic test results, and physician orders while performing nursing skills such as medication administration, dressing changes, catheterizations, and blood draws. Provide direct surgical assistance, delegate care to the physician team, and educate patients on urological procedures. Respond to patient inquiries, screen for schedule additions, and follow up on lab results. Maintain confidentiality, comply with HIPAA regulations, and attend monthly staff meetings. Requires current LPN license, BLS certification, and six months to one year of urology experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current LPN license as required by state
- BLS certification
- Completion of LPN program
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

- Performs any treatments per physician orders, including, but not limited to, administration of medications, dressing changes and catheterizations
- Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge
- Performs blood draws
- Uses proper handling and disposal of all medications, chemical substances, needles, syringes, etc. used in the course of patient treatment
- Sterilizes equipment and supplies as needed
- Responds to patient telephone inquiries by evaluating and responding to the patient's problems and questions
