Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for individuals with pulmonary and respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, and asthma. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while coordinating care with other departments and ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. This part-time rotation covers nights from 1830 to 0700 at Mercy Hospital Springfield. Basic Life Support certification is required, with LPN-IV certification available within three months of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri
- Meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to stand/walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to perform significant amount of bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
- Availability for Nights - 1830 to 0700 shifts
- Part-Time: Rotation schedule
