Job Summary
Provide patient care on the Medical 6B respiratory floor, managing patients with pulmonary and respiratory conditions including COPD, pneumonia, and asthma. Utilize the nursing process to evaluate care effectiveness, coordinate patient care with other departments, and maintain patient confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including lifting and turning patients up to 50 pounds. Maintain a current LPN license and obtain Basic Life Support certification. Work full-time nights from 1830 to 0700 with a sign-on bonus available. Join a collaborative team dedicated to improving breathing health and recovery.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification (previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri)
- Ability to stand/walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to perform significant amount of bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
- Availability for Nights - 1830 to 0700 shifts
- Full-Time employment
- Medical 6B floor specialization in pulmonary and respiratory conditions (COPD, pneumonia, asthma, and other lung-related illnesses)
Desired Qualifications
- Comparable education experience
- Successful licensure (in addition to current license)
