Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care on a medical floor specializing in pulmonary and respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, asthma, and other lung-related illnesses. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while coordinating care with other departments and evaluating the effectiveness of direct care givers. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state. Complete Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or within 30 days of hire, and LPN-IV certification within three months for Missouri residents. Work nights from 1830 to 0700 in a full-time rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification (previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri)
- Ability to stand/walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to perform significant amount of bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
- Availability for Nights - 1830 to 0700 shifts
- Full-Time employment status
