Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) needed to assist in directing nursing services on the unit/hall under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Primary duties include delegating tasks to professional and non-professional nursing staff, monitoring performance, observing patients for signs of adverse change, notifying attending physicians of emergencies and changes in orders, and performing other duties as assigned. Must have a high school diploma, hold an active LPN license for North Carolina, provide proof of license renewal biannually, be willing to work as charge nurse and cover emergencies, deliver quality geriatric nursing care, and maintain CPR certification with participation in in-service trainings.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Licensed Practical Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing and submit proof of license renewal every other year
- Willing to work as charge nurses, and work as needed during emergencies to assure adequate coverage
- Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients, follow doctors’ orders, and have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing
- CPR certified yearly
- Attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required
