Job Summary
Conduct direct patient care under RN or LIP supervision while performing testing, medication administration, and implementing nursing interventions. Manage workload with accuracy, provide clinical support, and teach patients and families, adhering to legal and ethical standards. Serve as a patient advocate in prevention of illness or disease, triaging and verifying medical information while collaborating with physicians, NPs, and PAs. Participate in occasional community events on Saturdays or Sundays as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Trade School Graduate-Licensed Practical Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire
- Valid LPN license in state(s) of practice
- Part-time days, 32-35 hours weekly
- Primary location will be Berkley
- Flexibility required for coverage at the Union, Mobile or Chestnut locations
- Occasional Community Events (Saturday/Sunday participation required)
- Functions under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP)
- Works within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing
- Demonstrates professional and clinical knowledge relative to designated clinical practice setting
- Adheres to the level of verified competency dictated by the site-specific program
- Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Supports and communicates effectively with other licensed independent practitioners (Physicians, NP, PA)
- Provides care and treatment for patients
- Provides clinical support and teaching for patient and family members
- Adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing practice
- Manages responsibilities of workload with accuracy
- Provides excellence in customer service
- Performs testing, medication administration and the implementation of nursing interventions and care plans
- Supports a holistic approach to patient care
- Serves as patient advocate in the prevention of illness or disease
- Work may be performed in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or private homes
Desired Qualifications
- Triaging, verifying medical information, caring for the patient's overall health, and working closely with the doctors and other team members
- Experience in a hospital, home health, hospice, or our medical group
