Job Summary
Assess medical status of clients, monitor physical health needs during withdrawal services, and administer medications as prescribed while tracking adverse effects. Interact with clients, visitors, and treatment team members to maintain professional standards, oversee medical appointments and referrals, and ensure accurate documentation of client files. Serve as the primary point of contact for external vendors and participate in health education seminars covering HIV, tuberculosis, and other communicable diseases. Maintain adequate supply stock and assist in medication tracking systems.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a valid New York State license
- BLS certificate
- 2 years' experience working with substance abuse and dual-diagnosis populations
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of records and information
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skill
- Team player
- Able to multi-task and handle challenging situations
- Competency with computer based programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook email, Relias, and Electronic Health records
