Job Summary
Assess resident complaints, admit and transfer patients, and administer oral and injectable medications in accordance with Florida law. Observe for medication side effects, prepare paperwork for outside appointments, and coordinate resident movements to ensure timely medication administration. Provide emergency medical and psychiatric treatment, complete incident reports and progress notes, and advocate for resident recovery and safety. Drive state vehicles to transport patients to external facilities and act as a sitter during outside hospital stays. Work 12-hour shifts three days a week with potential 16-hour rotations, following a two-week orientation including classroom training and shadowing.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire
- Must hold unencumbered licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must be CPR certified, or able to complete training
- Must be able to complete full orientation at time of hire
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of position including ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.
- Must be able to remain alert while on duty
- Must be able to work 16-hour shifts on occasion
- Must be able to drive state vehicles transporting patients to outside facility doctor appointments and hospitals
- Must be able to be a sitter with the patient during an outside hospital stay
