Job Summary
Monitor patients, ensure safety and protocol compliance, and assess acuity changes while recording vital signs. Place orders for toxicology and blood analysis labs, analyze results, and communicate findings to physicians. Dispense medications, respond to emergencies, and screen admissions for appropriateness. Supervise the monitoring station, manage on-site narcotics, and lead patient community meetings. Act as supervisor during manager absences and participate in Performance Improvement Committee meetings. Work collaboratively with all team members and external agencies.
Required Qualifications
- AA, equivalent, or higher in Nursing
- Active state Licensed Practical Nursing License
- Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Certification in First Aid
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs
- Commitment to a drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use
- Authorization to work in the US
- Openness to occasionally working extra shifts and demonstrating schedule flexibility
- Confidence in making prompt, effective decisions that positively impact patient care
- Independence and self-reliance, with the ability to work effectively without continuous supervision
- Resilience and composure in the face of challenging situations
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in addressing complex situations
- Strong work ethic, with a 'can-do' attitude and a drive to make a positive impact
- A balance of empathy and assertiveness in challenging scenarios
- High level of initiative and resourcefulness, consistently improving processes and care delivery
- Personal passion or interest in substance abuse issues
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in psychiatric nursing
- Chemical dependency treatment experience
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
