Job Summary
Perform donor eligibility determinations, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results (including Serological Protein Electrophoresis), and notify donors of unsuitable results. Works under the Center Manager and Center Physician to provide medical guidance, follow SOPs, and support medical issues and donor safety. Responsibilities include evaluating donor reactions, medical history interviews, informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, physical examinations, blood testing, and adherence to environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidelines. Supports vaccination programs for employees and may participate as a Pandemic Coordinator as directed by EHS. Requires an LPN/LVN license, CPR/AED certification, and two years of clinical experience. The role is based in Kokomo, Indiana, at BioLife Plasma Services (Takeda), with an emphasis on patient-centered donor care in a fast-paced plasma center environment.
Required Qualifications
- LPN or LVN license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduated from an approved nursing program
- CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
