Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services oversees donor eligibility, donor safety, and medical issues within the plasma center. Responsibilities include confirming donor eligibility (informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of SPE), evaluating donor reactions, coordinating with Center Physician for medical issues, supporting EHS programs, and assisting with vaccination programs and occupational health activities. Requires state licensure as LPN/LVN, CPR/AED, basic IV therapy training, and a minimum of two years clinical/hospital experience. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and operates in a full-time capacity at the Saint Ann, Missouri location.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
