Job Summary
Monitor student wellness, perform health assessments, and respond to medical crises by collaborating with RNs and coordinating with EMS. Administer medications, track vitals, and manage medical case logistics including scheduling appointments and communicating with guardians and providers. Provide health education to students and build relationships with families while documenting progress notes and incident reports. Engage in interdisciplinary teamwork across clinical and educational domains to support holistic physical and emotional health.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse in NYS, current and in good standing
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience as an LPN
- Demonstrated ability to achieve desired results working collaboratively in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
- Experience in program design, management, and implementation
- Must be able to ambulate around the campus, including hills, stairs, grass and gravel
- Must be able to react and move quickly during student crisis, both for the safety of the student and for the staff
- Must be able to run across the campus and throughout the school to catch/monitor an eloping student, and/or to remove yourself from an unsafe situation
- You must be able to pass TCIS (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training for Schools)
- You must be able to bend, stretch, sit, stand, crouch or kneel for sustained periods of time if implementing a hold

- You get the job done and are capable of strategic thinking while simultaneously rolling up to your sleeves to lead and teach by example
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills, specifically involving documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and other related administrative tasks
- You have the ability to adapt, remain flexible, and make sound and appropriate decisions under pressure where situations and circumstances are continually evolving
- You have the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- You have proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft 365 software, databases, electronic communication, and web-based applications
