Job Summary
Provide basic nursing care by assisting in resident assessments and participating in care planning processes. Implement nursing interventions, including medication administration and treatments, while accurately documenting all activities. Monitor residents closely to identify behavioral changes, answer call lights, and assist with activities of daily living. Communicate significant condition changes to the interdisciplinary team using SBARR and utilize critical thinking to address problem areas through the QAPI process. Maintain composure during crises and complete twelve hours of continuing education annually.
Required Qualifications
- Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current license in the state you will be working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- IV Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Current CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
- Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors and staff
- Excellent time management and organizational skills are required
- Must possess critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- Long-term care/Rehab/Assisted Living experience preferred
