Job Summary
Greet patients, activate files, and provide support to medical staff while recording health histories and noting abnormal conditions. Obtain vital signs, administer prescribed medications, and assist physicians during examinations and treatments. Collect and document lab specimens, notify patients of results, and arrange referrals with pre-authorizations. Maintain accurate patient charts, control medication inventory, monitor supplies, and ensure infection control protocols are followed. Respond to telephone calls to triage patients and ensure productive departmental flow. Clean and restock exam rooms between procedures.
Required Qualifications
- A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing
- Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations
