Job Summary
Provide wound-related and basic nursing care to patients under the direction of an RN or provider, adhering to hospital policies, safety protocols, and CMS guidelines. Assist with vein clinic intake and discharge after completing required training, gather patient information and supplies, and report quality of care issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager. Communicate with team members regarding therapeutic interventions and perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties or safety director tasks after completing specific training. Function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) and perform other delegated duties. Requires a current LPN/LVN license, two years of experience including one in SNF or LTACH, and BLS competency. Schedule is PRN.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program/state approved educational program
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice
- Two (2) or more years' experience as LPN/LVN
- One (1) or more years in SNF or LTACH setting
- Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Demonstrated organization, prioritization and time-management skills
- Basic knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations
- Strong interpersonal, listening, as well as oral and written communication skills
- Customer service skills and follow-up skills
- Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with others and in a team environment
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to stay calm in all situations
- Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems
- Physical demands: Being in a stationary position for extended periods of time (4 hours or more)
- Physical demands: Viewing computer screen for extended periods of time (4 hours or more)
- Physical demands: Keying frequently on a computer for 4 hours or more
- Physical demands: Lifting/moving items up to 20 pounds
- Physical demands: Lifting/moving items up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance
