Licensed Practical Nurse LPN (PRN Floor Nurse)

Monitor patients, ensuring safety and compliance with program protocols while assessing patients continually to communicate changes in acuity or physical state. Place orders to toxicology laboratories, blood analysis labs, and pharmacies; receive and analyze laboratory results to communicate findings to Physicians or Nurse Practitioners. Take and record patient vital signs, assess symptoms, and report condition changes. Dispense medications as needed, respond to medical emergencies, and obtain physician orders. Screen patients upon admission to determine appropriateness, supervise patient monitoring stations, and monitor on-site narcotics to prevent theft or abuse. Lead patient community meetings as needed, participate in Performance Improvement Committee meetings, and act as supervisor on duty in the absence of managers. Work cooperatively with all team members and external agencies.
