Job Summary
Provide nursing care in accordance with policy and physician's orders while identifying resident needs to develop and maintain appropriate care plans. Ensure timely admissions and manage the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics by following assigned protocols. Apply sound geriatric care principles and nursing administration knowledge while adhering to the Nursing Home Act, Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, and Food & Drug Act. This 3-month full-time contract includes a competitive compensation package for senior living homes in Osoyoos.
Required Qualifications
- Current certificate of registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC
- Diploma in Practical Nursing
- Sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care and nursing administration
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Nursing Home Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act
- Knowledge of the Food & Drug Act
