Job Summary
Monitor and document patient status including vital signs, drains, dressings, and lab values under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician. Administer and document medications per policy while collecting data using specialized equipment such as glucometers and pulse oximetry. Provide patient and family instruction on room and unit routines, maintain accurate medical records, and report changes in patient status immediately. This day shift role at Blount Memorial Hospital in the Orthopedic Surgery department supports individualized plans of care addressing physical, emotional, and cultural needs.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an LPN program recognized by the State Board of Nursing
- One (1) year experience as an LPN
- Holds a current LPN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an LPN in the state the team member is working
Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program
- Successful completion of a comparable residency program from another organization
- Program equivalency recognized by the State Board of Nursing (in lieu of LPN program)
- Candidates enrolled in an accredited LPN to RN transition program (in lieu of one (1) year of LPN experience)
