Job Summary
Conduct patient assessments, administer medications, and manage chronic illnesses while maintaining medical records in the electronic health system. Provide wound care, perform emergency first aid, and deliver patient education within a secure correctional environment. Monitor vital signs, observe patient health status, and assist with discharge planning for individuals in the Fulton County Jail. New graduates are encouraged to apply as training is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required)
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
