Job Summary
Perform patient assessments, administer medications, provide wound care, and manage chronic illnesses while maintaining medical records in the electronic health record system. Respond to emergencies, observe patient health and mental health status, and deliver patient education and discharge planning within a secure correctional environment. Work alongside correctional officers to protect patient rights and dignity, requiring physical stamina for tasks such as lifting patients and performing CPR. Full-time, part-time, and PRN positions are available with a $7,500 sign-on bonus for full-time hires, plus a $2.00 hourly pay incentive and mileage reimbursement. Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
