Job Summary
Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and provide wound care while monitoring vital signs and maintaining electronic health records. Deliver emergency first aid, educate patients, and manage chronic illnesses within a secure correctional environment. Observe patient mental and physical health status and assist with discharge planning alongside correctional officers. Requires active LPN or LVN certification, BLS CPR training, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Full-time roles include a $5,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits starting day one.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Actively state certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
