Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Conduct assessments, administer medications or treatments as ordered, and perform testing to evaluate resident status. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents while documenting interactions, outcomes, and care plans. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans. Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team to develop self-care programs. Maintain an unencumbered LPN license and complete annual continuing education and competency training. Requires an accredited practical nursing program graduation with supervised clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
