Job Summary
Provide skilled nursing care and administer medications to patients on the Neurology Med Surg Unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Participate in the nursing process by collecting, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care data while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Deliver direct patient care, perform phlebotomy services, and document objective and subjective data including pain assessments and treatment results. Recognize and report significant changes in patient conditions to contribute to plan of care revisions. Adhere to safety policies, infection control procedures, and HIPAA standards while delegating tasks within scope. Work 24 scheduled weekly hours (7a-7:30p) every third weekend with 1 summer and 1 winter holiday.
Required Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from the state of employment
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- 1 year of clinical patient care experience (e.g., PCT, CNA, LPN) in an acute care setting, long-term care facility, or physician practice
- Completion of Basic Arrhythmia class with passing grade on exam
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
- 1 year of clinical patient care experience (e.g., PCT, CNA, LPN) in an acute care setting, long-term care facility, or physician practice
