Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Neurology 8E at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. Full-Time night shift, 36 hours per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with a sign-on bonus up to $2,000 for part-time and full-time caregivers. The role involves applying the nursing process to provide patient care under supervision or the direction of an RN, coordinating patient care with other departments, maintaining patient rights and confidentiality, and delivering care to patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions (e.g., strokes, seizures, brain tumors, brain bleeds). Collaboration with RNs, PCAs, therapists, and providers is emphasized, with growth opportunities across Mercy system. Education required: high school diploma or GED; Missouri LPN licensure; Basic Life Support (BLS); LPN-IV Certification within specified timeframe. Candidates may be new graduates or experienced LPNs seeking a supportive, team-focused environment and opportunities for specialty training and career pathways.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Licensure: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Must hold and maintain a current LPN license in Missouri and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Experience: New graduates and experienced LPNs welcome
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
- LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year based on unit requirements)
