Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Neuro Med/Surg at Springfield Regional Medical Center provides skilled nursing care and administers medications under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, conducts patient data collection, contributes to the plan of care, performs phlebotomy, monitors patient conditions, adheres to safety policies, and supports HIPAA/OSHA compliance. Responsibilities include data collection, planning, implementation, evaluation of the patient’s plan of care, and delivering care with attention to patient age, condition, and unit guidelines; administers medications and treatments within scope; documents patient responses and coordinates with health care team; participates in care revision based on ongoing evaluation; demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and effective communication; complies with institutional policies and duties and may perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from the state of employment or LPN applicant (required)
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (required)
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (may be required for specialty areas)
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (may be required for specialty areas)
- NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (may be required for specialty areas)
- 1 year of clinical patient care experience (e.g., PCT, CNA, LPN) in an acute care setting, long-term care facility, or physician practice (preferred)
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training (preferred)
- Basic Arrhythmia class with passing grade on exam (required for Telemetry/Remote Telemetry units)
