Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) in East Islip, NY. Responsibilities include updating and maintaining the electronic medical record with vital signs, demographics, medication reconciliation, and allergies; managing physician inbox messages; assisting in maintaining medical inventory and stocking supplies; preparing and escorting patients to exam rooms; providing patient education on medications, disease management, and home therapies; assisting physicians with exams and procedures; preparing and administering injections; performing phlebotomy and lab specimen collection; conducting point-of-care testing; performing EKGs; ensuring medication administration adheres to the five rights to minimize medical errors. Requires NYS LPN license and BLS certification; strong communication and interpersonal skills; reliable transportation to NYCBS locations. Salary starts at $32.50/hour with comprehensive benefits including health/dental/vision, disability insurance, 401k, PTO, and holidays; hours are 4/10s, Mon-Tue, Thu-Fri 7a-7p.
Required Qualifications
- Current NYS LPN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems
- Reliable transportation to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
