Job Summary
Perform patient assessments, administer medications, manage chronic illnesses, and respond to emergencies while maintaining medical records in the electronic health record, TechCare. Provide wound care, observe patient health and mental health status, offer emergency first aid, and deliver patient education and discharge planning. Work alongside correctional officers in a secure environment where safety is a top priority. This role supports NaphCare's mission to provide quality healthcare to the diverse population at the William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
