Job Summary
Perform patient assessments, take vital signs, provide wound care, and administer medications while monitoring patient health and mental status. Maintain electronic medical records, deliver emergency first aid, and offer patient education and discharge planning. Work alongside correctional officers in a secure environment to protect patient rights and dignity. Requires active LPN certification, BLS CPR, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
