Job Summary
Monitor and document patient status including vital signs, drains, dressings, and lab values while providing patient and family instruction. Collect and document data as delegated by the Registered Nurse/Physician, utilizing specialized equipment such as glucometers and pulse oximetry. Administer and document medication administration per policy, ensuring accurate maintenance of confidential medical records. Report observations of patients and changes in status to the appropriate Registered Nurse/Physician. This role supports the Medical/Surgical Nursing department at Blount Memorial Hospital, where the team transforms healthcare for community benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an LPN program recognized by the State Board of Nursing
- One (1) year experience as an LPN
- Holds a current LPN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an LPN in the state the team member is working
Desired Qualifications
- successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program
- successful completion of a comparable residency program from another organization
- program equivalency recognized by the State Board of Nursing
- candidates enrolled in an accredited LPN to RN transition program
