Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care for patients with predictable outcomes, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support Registered Nurses for clients with unpredictable outcomes or complex acuity. Document care activities and maintain clinical competence in accordance with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives standards. Shift assignments rotate across various clinical units at Vancouver General Hospital to meet staffing requirements based on patient acuity and operational needs. New hires complete an on-site orientation program led by experienced healthcare professionals.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
