Job Summary
Provide direct patient care for assigned patients and perform all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed. Administer and monitor dialysis treatments, document treatment parameters and patient information, and report significant changes to the supervisor. Assist in teaching plans for patients and families regarding end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications. Participate in emergency procedures, CPR, and equipment troubleshooting. Maintain a clean and sanitary dialysis facility environment, adhere to bloodborne pathogen policies, and collaborate with physicians, dietitians, and social workers. The role requires travel between assigned facilities and various community locations, with emphasis on safety, communication, and teamwork to ensure high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN)
- Current appropriate State licensure
- One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
- Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required
- ICU experience preferred but not required
- Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
- Successfully complete CPR Certification
- Must complete the Nurses Technical Training Program upon hire or soon thereafter
- Ability to provide coverage at area facilities during times of short-staffing or as required
- Color Blindness test per employment requirements
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
