Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Brookville, NY. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while monitoring and documenting vital signs, health status, and changes in patient condition. Assist with developing and implementing individualized care plans, maintain accurate patient documentation, and provide health education to individuals and direct care staff. Assist individuals with medical needs while promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life, ensuring compliance with agency policies, New York State regulations, and HIPAA standards. Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
- Reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of LPN experience preferred
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus, but not required
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
