Job Summary
Greet patients, prepare them for examinations, and record health histories while noting abnormal conditions for physicians. Administer prescribed medications, give injections, and observe patient reactions to treatments, reporting findings to providers. Assist with physical exams, triage telephone calls, and screen referrals to ensure departmental flow. Collect and document lab specimens, obtain test results, and notify patients of follow-up appointments. Maintain accurate patient charts, manage medication and supply inventories, and monitor medical equipment. Clean exam rooms, restock supplies, and follow infection control policies for hazardous waste disposal.
Required Qualifications
- A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing
- Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of two years' experience in a hospital or clinic setting
