Job Summary
Administer general nursing care to ambulatory patients under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Perform treatments and procedures as assigned, including oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications, while reporting all significant nursing care results immediately to the Primary Nurse. Participate in planning and coordinating patient care with the Primary Nurse and Nursing Care Coordinator, establishing strong interpersonal relations with patients, families, and hospital personnel. Maintain knowledge of medication dosages, side effects, and reactions. Requires a New York State Practical Nurse license, high school diploma, and graduation from an accredited practical nursing school.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
- Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State
- Ability to communicate effectively
