Job Summary
Supervise HHAs, CNAs, and facility staff while conducting daily rounds of assisted living and retirement residents. Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, observe patient conditions, and report symptoms to the Director of Wellness or RN. Ensure accurate documentation of vital signs, weights, and medication administration, while maintaining cleanliness of the nurse's station and checking equipment. Assist in staff orientation and complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary. Provide guidance to nursing assistants and promote positive relationships with residents and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
- Currently licensed to practice per state
- Work experience in the geriatric field
- Ability to communicate well and in writing
- Ability to deal with visitors, staff and residents in a courteous manner
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60lbs
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure at times
- Ability to assess a resident's condition and intervene when needed
- CPR certified, or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter
