Job Summary
Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health and substance use needs in group-home settings. Responsibilities include observing and gathering health data, coordinating routine medical care, documenting nursing care, assisting physicians with on-site medical clinics, delivering health-related trainings to unlicensed personnel, conducting medication pass observations and closest assessments, performing quality assurance checks, reporting abnormal health findings to physicians, and communicating with physicians, pharmacies, and the Interdisciplinary Team. The role requires advocacy for the people supported and collaboration to develop community supports to promote optimal health; ideal for nurses seeking a structured, on-site position outside traditional hospital environments. Requires LPN licensure, graduation from an accredited program, CPR certification, and ability to fulfill pre-employment screenings. Location: Hendersonville, NC; Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm; full-time with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited licensed nurse program
- Current LPN license with no restrictions to practice nursing
- Current CPR Certification or eligibility to certify for CPR
- Ability to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members and the people supported and their families
- Must be able to work independently, be organized, and prioritize tasks
- Physical ability to lift 20-40 pounds and perform required mobility tasks
