Job Summary
Provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) or licensed prescriber using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while coordinating care with other departments. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality of information are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards in the Orthopedics unit at Mercy Hospital South. Requires current Missouri LPN license, BLS certification, and LPN-IV certification. Full-time day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) with significant physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license in Missouri
- Meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
- LPN-IV Certification
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
