Job Summary
Charge Nurse - LPN provides direct nursing care and clinical leadership in a high-acuity long-term care setting. Responsibilities include ongoing assessments, wound care, IV therapy (as permitted), catheter care, medication administration, care planning with the interdisciplinary team, supervising CNAs and staff, ensuring regulatory compliance and infection prevention, and delivering education and emotional support to residents and their families. Requires a valid Iowa LPN license, CPR certification, supervisory training or ability to obtain within 90 days, knowledge of long-term care regulations, and a compassionate approach to resident-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing (Iowa)
- Current, valid CPR Certification
- Documented completion of State-approved LPN Supervisory Course or ability to obtain within first 90 days of employment
- Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations and laws
- Strong commitment to empathy, respect, patience, and discretion in resident care
