Job Summary
Deliver basic nursing care to patients by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing wound care while ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards. Assist RNs or physicians with patient assessments, collect specimens, and educate patients on self-care strategies. Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Observe and promptly report changes in patient condition to supervising staff. Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable state and federal regulations while promoting a safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program
- Current, active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures
- Ability to follow clinical protocols, physician orders, and regulatory standards
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Ability to communicate and understand written and verbal communication
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in acute care, long-term care, behavioral health, or correctional healthcare
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems (EMR/EHR)
- IV certification (if applicable and permitted by state regulations)
