Job Summary
Provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services under the direction of a registered nurse or physician to address the medical or psychiatric needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries, substance abuse issues, and/or emotional or behavioral challenges. Complete health assessments, administer and record medications, and conduct quality assurance checks on health care records. Travel between multiple locations and partner with external agencies to coordinate services. Provide training to staff and individuals served on topics such as medication administration, infection control, and self-medication. Participate in the on-call system as needed for emergency coverage. Maintain confidentiality and practice universal precautions in accordance with company policy and all external guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing or related field or a graduate of an accredited LPN program
- One year of experience working with population served in a nursing capacity
- Current state LPN License
- CPR/FA certification
- HIV/AIDS certification
- BBP certification
- ACT training
- Current driver's license
- Car registration
- Auto insurance
- Strong communication skills with ability to build rapport with others
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task
- Reliable, responsible, caring nature with a commitment to the company's mission and values
