Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care under supervision of RN or physician, administers medications and injections, monitors patient conditions, assists with care planning, documents in EMR/EHR, educates patients on treatments, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include delivering basic nursing care per policies/procedures, monitoring vital signs, wound care and dressing changes, infection control, reporting changes in patient condition, and maintaining a safe, patient-centered care environment. Must adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, PREA and applicable state/federal regulations; CPR/BLS certified; LPN license in the state of practice; strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred experience in acute or long-term care, behavioral health, or correctional healthcare and EMR/EHR proficiency; IV certification where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program
- Current, active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures
- Ability to follow clinical protocols, physician orders, and regulatory standards
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Experience in acute care/long-term care/behavioral health/correctional healthcare (preferred)
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems (EMR/EHR) (preferred)
- IV certification (if applicable and permitted by state regulations) (preferred)
- Adheres to infection control policies and procedures
- Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice
