Job Summary
Administer prescribed medications with 100% accuracy, manage controlled substance counts, and ensure correct dosages without pre-pouring. Provide hands-on care and assist with activities of daily living for residents while maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly environment. Supervise non-licensed nursing staff, conduct performance evaluations, and train employees in Resident Services. Complete required forms, logs, and progress notes; respond promptly to resident and family requests. Adhere to ALF regulations, HIPAA standards, and emergency protocols. Accept calls during nights and weekends, and take initiative on special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state specific nursing license
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to two years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Knowledge of word processing software
- Knowledge of electronic medical records
