Job Summary

Direct day-to-day nursing care for residents while supervising nursing assistants in adherence to Federal, State, and Local standards. Manage administrative functions by directing staff, verifying policy compliance, planning shift services, and coordinating with resident services to maintain total care regimens. Administer medications, verify resident identity, order supplies, and report discrepancies to the Nurse Supervisor. Perform clinical tasks including catheterization, tube feedings, dressing changes, and monitoring seriously ill residents. Complete all required charting, documentation, and discharge plan updates. Respond promptly to call lights and notify physicians of accidents or condition changes. Maintain confidentiality, protect residents from abuse, and participate in quality assurance programs and government surveys.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse with current state license
  • Excellent technical, assessment and documentation skills
  • Good Leadership qualities
  • Organized and detailed in work performance
  • Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience
  • Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
  • Comply with the Residents Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures
  • Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below
  • Perform Essential Duties as outlined above
