Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interviews, and physical examinations while managing adverse events and reviewing laboratory test results. Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, coordinate medical emergencies with the Center Physician, and notify donors of unsuitable findings. Support environmental, health, and safety programs, including Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccinations, and manage employee incidents requiring occupational health evaluation. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized to support investigations of local community threats.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
