Job Summary
Plan and oversee daily nursing activities for residents, administering medications as ordered by physicians and performing professional services such as catheterization, wound care, and IV care. Provide direct nursing care while supervising nursing assistants to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and assist residents with activities of daily living, meal service, and social engagement. Maintain patient confidentiality, coordinate with clinical leadership regarding changing needs, and foster a warm, collaborative environment through effective communication with families and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current unencumbered state license
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing & medical practices & procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
- CPR and First Aid certifications are required
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable while handling multiple priorities
- Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
- Competent in organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Required to sit, stand, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100
- Must be able to cope with the mental & emotional stress of the position
- Visual and auditory ability sufficient for written and verbal communication
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Long Term Care is preferred
